Looks like it is now out of stock. I hope this price was for four pounds, and don't forget there is a hazmat charge in addition to shipping, if it were in stock.

Houston Reloading Supplies http://houstonreloadingsupplies.com has 1 and 4 lb containers of Lil Gun. They also have H110 and W296. Their website has inventory information, but the most current info is available, if you subscribe to their newsletter or call them, which you must do before you go their to pick up your powder our other reloading supplies. They also ship, if you'd be willing to pay the hazmat fee. If you are in the Houston area,, or passing through, give them a call, and let them know you heard about it on the forum.

An FYI from the Wildcatter: Our 450 factory ammo uses WIN-297 as the factory favorite. I am to understand, but I have no way of confirming, other than a phone call, that Win-297 is Win296 with a flash retardant in the powder.

Of course reloading can be very hazardous, so use this information carefully!

I have used win-296 with great results, but LIL-Gun seems to do a tiny bit better, for most uses..

I love Lil-Gun with my super loads in my 450 bolt guns.

Its pretty handy in my 510 Whisper sub loads as well.

Should work fine in my new 510 WSM when I make it.

I have a 2700fps load for the 200 grain sst's. People would be surprised what powder I'm using for it. Enforcer is a good one for light bullets also.

Just found Lil Gun from an ad in Blue Press: www.powdervalleyinc.com They have 1 and 8 pound containers. 8 pounders are $142.65 with a $28.50 HAZMAT fee. They are in Kansas, but I didn't catch the city. Max order per day is 48# (if you can afford it  )

That price is not outrageous in the "new normal" we find ourselves in. Just being able to source Lil Gun is its own reward, though locally, pistol powders are coming back off the endangered species list. Good catch.

Looking at many of your replies to the initial post, it appears that li'l gun is the go to powder for this round.I have had great luck with it in my 22 hornet. Looking up the SAAMI specs show the max pressures listed at around 40,000 PSI. Question I have is if that data was developed for the AR platform or is is based on case strength? As the parent case is a .284 Win, 40,000 PSI is nowhere near what you can churn out of a .284. If the pressures were developed and set to prevent the premature destruction of black rifles, it would lead me to believe that the case has a lot more potential in a bolt gun.
