Hornady die question

I've only reloaded bottleneck rifle rounds. I read (printed out, reread as I loaded)the detailed instructions by Bob.

My question is: What is the Pin (for lack of a better description) that comes with the 4 dies?

Thanks

I'm at work and It's been so long since I first unboxed mine, but it looks familiar. Doesn't it go below the seating stem adjustment knob? Perhaps to accommodate a different bullet nose style?

Extra seating stem for seating flat nose(cast I'm guessing) flat nose bullets. In my case, an extra paperweight...

I'm pretty sure you're right. This is another useful tool in the reloading set that Hornady failed to describe in their supplied instructions.

I will fess up, mine was used for a punch to drive a shaft out of a bearing once, so I'm pretty sure I'll never use it in my dies...

Kind of what I thought, but wanted to make sure. It'll be a paper weight for me too.
Thank you all.

Brand New to the 450B. I just sat down and made my first loads for it today...

I've loaded lots of bottle neck rifle cartridges but this is my first straight wall. Thanks for asking the question. I was wondering the same.

I'm disappointed hornady just put their standard instructions in this set. I'm super happy y'all have posted so much here to clarify it all.

You will have a hard time finding as much about the 450B as you can find here.

Sorry it some times takes a little work to search for it.

I don't even think I got one of those in my die set. Anyway, have obviously never used it.

That's what I thought it was too, Hoot.
