Awesome! Thank you very much. I will hold onto them more than likely. I plan on getting some hotter primers as soon as I find them. There has been very slim Pickens in my area as far as reloading components go. I'm sure I'm not alone in that.

I know most people have been using lil gun, but I hate to go buy more powder. Especially when I have 16lbs of W296 that I got for CHEAP from a friend who is getting out of reloading. It should do just fine for my intentions.

Also, Texas Sheepdawg, I've been a fan of yours for a while now. Love your videos. Keep them coming!

I believe GunNut has used 296 for some of his FMJ loads, you might PM him and see what his thoughts are. I know he has been extremely busy lately so be patient in a response.

The Hornady book for a 240grn.XTP bullet lists W296 start @ 29.2 =1700fps, 38.8grns =2200fps. beware of light loads with W296! don't go bellow 80% of case capacity or you will see signs of over pressure. I maybe wrong on the 80% but, don't go below the 29.2 min.Start load.
If your bullet is lighter, say 230grn FMJ you will be fine.

Sorry, I replyed before reading the other posts! been working hard and it's late. DO Not use plated or copper clad bullets in the 450B!! They will come apart! That said, I have pushed the 230FMJ Zero's to 2750FPS with LilGun. not recomended. but,had to find the upper limit.
I have shot 185grn bullet with LG. but, they are all hollow points and explode on the surface. Save your W296 for 250g and up.

Yeah Gunny, the 296 without a LeGendre crimp? Or with the LeGendre crimp?

I always use the LeGendre crimp followed up with a little tapper to dress it up. The LeGendre crimp eliminates bullet jump when chambering.

With the 296? What's your recipe for 230FMJ and 296?
