I have a nother question as well can I safely use .451 bullets in my 450 bushmaster

Yes you can. The popular Barnes bullets are .451 and shoot like a house on fire!

Here's what the Lyman AR manual says about the difference in velocity due to barrel length:

We used the 16" barrel for out data, however we also test fired the 20" barrel and found that it would produce about 100 fps more velocity than the 16" barrel.

The 100 fps value is only a rough estimate, of course.

I seem to recall other information on the forum that indicates a 100 to 200 fps difference from the 16 to the 20" barrel. But I don't know of any range reports, where someone has actually fired the two side by side under the same conditions.
