Yep. That was my rational of going 450b over 458. I have a 460 V. I have bullets for that as well as the 225ftx that I bought but Hornaday doesn't have data for them in the 460. Or didn't.
So they grew into a ar upper in 450b.
The 460 takes a tough bullet because of the cylinder jump into the throat. A thin jacketed bullet will squirsh all out and can bust the forcing cone. Or so they say.
And yes I know there is no official data for the 225gr cept for here, and yes I could load them in the 460 anyway using reduced data and shorter case.
But then I wouldn't have needed a 450b upper.
Every where is out, it seems, of the Lee 450 dies, midway and midsouth have Hornaday for $65 on sale.
Might go that route.
Modded a couple of magazines last night. A Brownells straight 20 and a Hex 30 with a 20rnd spring. Ruined a pmag 20 curved and that was the spring I used in the hex.
