First time post but I can't thank everyone enough for all of the great information on this cartridge and how to get the most out of it.
I am from Ohio and settled in on the 200g Barnes and the 275g Barnes both shoot great out of my AR15 450BM.
Anderson lower with a 16" Upper on it and the 200g, 250g (Hornady), 275g all give me clover leaf accuracy from the bench at 100yds with proper crimping and loading techniques as described elsewhere. Even nicer is they all hit within 1" of each other at 100yd too.
Anyways, got back from Mississippi on a hog hunt and used my 450bm with an ATN X-sight 3-14 with an Evolva IR illuminator. Great Day/Night Setup out to probably 300 yards.
The 275g Barnes was loaded in starline brass to COL 2.257 with a taper crimp down to .4755 and then a stab crimp from a modified 45-70 lee crimp.
Loaded over 35g of Lil'Gun and a Win SR primer. Haven't run it over the chrono yet but guess right around 2,000fps...anyways it did a number on the piggy.
Not overly sizeable boar(120lb) but a good eater. Last year shot a 250lb boar...man that was a little pungent eating.

Bullet just knicked the front left shoulder, created a 1" entry hole through the ribs took out the heart/lungs and obviously hit with enough shock to lock the pig up on the spot.
It came to rest just under the skin on the far side after breaking the back two ribs on the opposite side for about 20" of penetration, four broken ribs and a chipped shoulder.
Distance was 105-110yd.
Great forum guys. Keep it up and thank you again.
Herk!
