I will get some real fmj not plated when available. Zero bullets seem to be sold out. If nothing else I know I can use the Hornady xtp there fairly inexpensive and safe. I really liked the results. I am anxious to use them on whitetails.

Safety is paramount and using these plated bullets with the charge and primer I used was about as bad as it gets. Luckily I was smart enough to check the barrel after every shot however, I should have been smart and stopped immediately. Thank goodness no one was harmed.

This is one of the 2 things that really scare me when reloading the other is a under charged load with a large case. I heard that certain powders can detonate although I have not seen it. Better not temp fate even if it is theoretical.

it aint theoretical, and it doesnt even need a case as big as the 450 bm.

happened to a buddy over on the 300 blk forums - a VERY experienced reloader no less. SEE - Secondary Explosion Events are a real deal thing, and can easily destroy a firearm, and harm the peopel holding them when it does happen. simply get below 50% case fill, have the powder settle nearly flat in the case after chambering, let the primer flash over a whole bunch of powder and ignite it at once instead of burning back to front like its supposed to... and your *bang* turns into a *kaboom*.

he lucked out and thankfully only had some scratches - but it destroyed his barrel, BCG and lower. and his undershorts were a total loss too.
