CCI 450 vs Rem 7 12

Postby Moore77 » Fri Sep 08, 2023 8:39 am

Definitely not a large volume reloader as many of you are , just for hunting
hunting and a little low volume practice. Primers in my area are scarce
and I hate the cost of Hazmat and standard shipping. Locally I can buy the
450's for the same cost as the 7 12's on line without shipping cost. I use
Lil Gun , H110 and 296 powders. Any input and advice would be greatly
appreciated.

I use them both across many calibers and find them indistinguishable. Around where I live, the 7 1/2 are usually a little cheaper.

In Theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In Practice, there is.

I've used Remington 7 1/2 primers for over 50 years and make sure I have plenty in stock....CCI 450 have left a bad taste in my mouth for close to 50 years ago....had some that wouldn't go off lucky it was at the range....

Sure wish that large primer450 BM brass would become available....

in my testing with several uppers and a couple projectil/powder combo's - 450's and 7½'s give as close to identical restuls for me as to be interchangeable for the 450bm.

use whichever you can get your hands on the cheapest.
