I tried some 310 grain plain base WFNs out of a Veral Smith mold this weekend. Felix sent me about 100 to play with. They have enough nose that I could seat them out to fill the throat, and still get a good crimp. No joy with either H100 or Lilgun. I had very consitent velocities and single digit SDs, but accuracy was 8" @ 100 yards, and I had a little "gray wash" leading in the barrel beyond the gas port. A couple of gas checked boolits and I was back to a bright shiney bore.
I'm thinking that gas checks are going to be a must. My suspicion is that passing the gas port is messing with the bases of the boolits without checks as I haven't been able to get any of them to shoot. My current thougt is to have another mold made, the same as my 293 grainer, but with an additional 10 grains of front drive band length to fill some of the throat.
