Gas Checked Lead Bullets ?

I just saw these at Midway:

Any trouble with leading?
How's the accuracy?
I would like to run them 1700 - 1900 fps........is that too fast for a cast with a gas check?

I have used these with so-so results. These can be pushed to the velocities you want or even faster, but the problem lays in the gasket. It is shorter that the width of the gas port. I theorize (not totally sure) but gas gets around the check in a split second and dislodges it. I have pictures posted in another thread on cast bullets of the bullet bases.
If someone made a gas check 1/8 inch high -- then we would be good to go.

I'm currently waiting on production of a gas check maker from pat marlin that should allow me to make checks .10 tall.

Excuse my ignorance of the casting process, but has anyone tried tinning the lead side of the checks before casting them, or at least moistening the lead side with a tiny amount of flux? Just wondering...

Gas checks are applied to the bullet after casting. Usually this happens during the sizing and lubricating procedure.
