Gentleman
I modified a LFC 45/70, it came out great, however, my crimp results don't seem to look like the ones I have seen here. I have attached pictures of what I am getting. Am I doing something wrong or did I miss a step?
I left the width of the crimp stock. Long story but I tried narrowing it on my first attempt, its in the trash.
The first picture I crimped an empty sized case. The pedals on the die closed with no daylight between them pretty easy.
The second picture, the 4 to the left, I seated the bullets and crimped them with the LFC as well as a taper crimp. I pulled one projectile after, (the 3rd from the left) as for the pull, my point of reference is driving a 16 p nail with one hit as my reference. The majority of the projectile came out with one hit.
You can see the projectile that I pulled has no visible signs of a crimp. I know you can do too much but I don't see anything.
The two on the right I used a taper crimp only. I pulled one of them as well, there was no difference that I could tell with the pulling of the projectile.
Any thoughts, hope or prayer appreciated
